UMCP Transfer Credit Footnote Codes
What the Footnote Codes mean:
- MH - Applies toward CORE via MHEC policy only (not for students already at College Park)
- NS - Needs Syllabus - (Click here for details)
- PF - Portfolio Review required for this course if exemption from ENGL101 is sought. For details visit: ENGL101 Exemption Page.
- P1 - Course will transfer as PHYS 161 if "A" or "B" is earned
- P2 - Course will transfer as PHYS 262 if "A" or "B" is earned
- ST - Course will NOT satisfy requirement for majors in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, but will meet prerequisite for applied statistics
courses
- 01 - Course will also satisfy statistics requirement for BMGT majors
- 05 - Applicable to major if "C" or higher is earned
- 06 - Placement by examination; consult departmental advisor
- 10 - No credit towards any degree in the College of Architecture
- 11 - No credit towards any degree in the College of Business and Management
- 12 - No credit towards any degree in the Department of Economics
- 13 - No credit towards any degree in the College of Education
- 14 - No credit towards any degree in the James A. Clark School of Engineering
- 15 - No credit towards any degree in the College of Journalism
- 17 - No advance permission; no permission to take this course away for current UMCP students.
- 20 - Placement by audition; consult departmental advisor
- 21 - 2 courses (usually a lecture/lab) combine into 1 unified class at UMCP
- 24 - Credit will be awarded at the Freshman/Sophomore level only
- 34 - "A" in ENGL101 does not satisfy Professional Writing requirement for ENGR students
- 35 - Proficiency examination required; consult college or departmental advisor
- 44 - Course may vary in topic from one semester to another; individual review (syllabus) required;

- 48 - Summer registration requires advance approval
- 62 - May apply to major; consult advisor
- 63 - Lab portion of class will not transfer without satisfactory grade in lecture
