Please Note: "Lower Level" refers to courses at the lower (100 and 200) level. Any
test not listed will not be accepted for credit at UMCP.
Students may not receive credit for both CLEP courses and for equivalent
UMCP courses or transfer courses (including Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate).
CLEP credit will be deleted in such cases. Applicable scores for a particular
exam are those in effect when a student takes the exam. Contact your College
Dean if you have questions.
Certain CLEP tests may be revised during the year. At the time this catalog was printed,
information on the new verstions of those tests was not available.
Changes are possible in UMCP credit acceptance for revised CLEP exams.

Computer-based CLEP testing was implemented during 2003 for selected
tests at selected test venues. Scoring procedures are changing.
The scores above apply to NON-computer based testing. Departments will
evaluate the new tests and scoring procedures as they become available.
Some exams will be considered for credit on a case-by-case basis until
review is complete. Contact an advisor or the Transfer Credit Center
(tccinfo@umd.edu) for further information. Students who have matriculated
at UMCP are encouraged to speak to their advisor about departmental or
Advanced Placement Exams in addition to CLEP. All matriculated students
must have permission of their college advisor to take CLEP tests. Students
interested in taking MATH CLEP are encouraged to speak to the math advisor
on campus, 301-405-4362.
