Transfer Admission
In order to be admitted to Architecture, transfer students will be required to meet the
following set of gateway requirements:
- completion of all Distributive Studies CORE requirements;
- successful review of a portfolio to assess drawing skills; and
- attainment of a minimum cumulative GPA for all college-level work attempted.The required
GPA is set each year and may vary from year to year depending upon available space.
Contact the School of Architecture or the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for the
current GPA standard.

These requirements apply to new transfer students to the
University as well as on-campus students hoping to change majors to Architecture.
Admission of transfer students may be strictly limited, and capacity is determined each
year in accordance with the success of incoming freshmen.
Appeals. Students who are unsuccessful in gaining admission to Architecture at the
freshman or transfer level, and believe they have extenuating or special circumstances
which should be considered, may appeal in writing to the Office of Undergraduate
Admissions. The student will be notified in writing of the appeal decision once it is made.
